Allegra

Allegra is an antihistamine drug which is typically used in the treatment of hay fever and other similar allergy symptoms (neezing, runny nose, itching, watering of the eyes etc.). The generic name for Allegra is Fexofenadine hydrochloride.

Types of Allegra

Allegra Fexofenadine HCl - typically used for relief of seasonal allergy symptoms (sneezing, runny nose, itchy nose, palate, and throat, and itchy, watery, red eyes etc.). It is available in three dosage strengths - 180 mg, 60 mg and 30 mg (for kids).

Allegra Fexofenadine HCl Oral Suspension - specially formulated for children and available in cream colored and berry flavor. Allegra Oral Suspension may be used to treat the symptoms of seasonal allergies in children ages 2 to 11 years, and the symptoms of chronic hives in children as young as 6 months to 11 years. It is non-sedating and will not make your child drowsy or sleepy (unlike many other allergy medications).

Allegra-D 12 Hour - combines Allegra with a powerful decongestant to provide relief of seasonal allergy symptoms, including congestion. As the name implies, one dose lasts a full 12 hours. Allegra-D 12 Hour is non-sedating, so it will not make you drowsy.

Allegra-D 24 Hour - combines Allegra with a powerful decongestant to provide relief of seasonal allergy symptoms, including congestion for a full 24 hours. Allegra-D 24 Hour is also nondrowsy.

Allegra Interactions
In controlled clinical studies, there were no interactions with other drugs that significantly affected the safety or effectiveness of fexofenadine. Take Allegra exactly as directed and if you do not understand these instructions, ask your pharmacist, nurse, or doctor to explain them to you.
